Watch Men Who Stare At Goats Online Movie Review
Psychic boot camp. Jedi warriors. Teleportation. Which one of these has a part in a new film about a little-known US military program? If you answered all three, you're right. If you think it's a fictional tale pulled from the depths of a Sci Fi writer's imagination, guess again. Then make plans to see The Men Who Stare at Goats.
The film is based on the non-fiction book of the same name by British journalist, Jon Ronson. Set in Iraq, Ewan McGregor plays an American reporter who meets US military operative George Clooney, then joins him in search of his former mentor. The mentor, played by Jeff Bridges, was once in charge of a secret military program formed to train psychic soldiers, but is now missing. Kevin Spacey stars as Clooney's archrival in psychic prowess. Their journey is the backdrop for Clooney to amaze McGregor with wild, but true stories of the program, its founder and its trainees.
Making a humorous film about the US military can't be easy, especially these days. Grant Heslov, the director and Clooney's real-life production partner, manages to pull it off, though, thanks to memorable performances by some of the biggest box office names of the last decade, all assembled within the same incredible cast. With the talent tank to be found in this movie, it could be the story of almost anything and still walk away as a future classic. Fortunately, the story is just as captivating, and so well written that Americans probably won't mind that it's about the same steel-trap logical minds that command their enlisted offspring and are supposed to protect and defend them.
Moviegoers who rely on critic reviews to determine what movies they see may have a tough time deciding if it's worth their time. Ultimately, choose a Men Who Stare at Goats online movie review by a columnist you regularly trust to help make the choice, but don't stop there. Before you seal the deal, find the movie trailer online and watch it for yourself. That alone is likely to pull in all fans of McGregor, Clooney, Bridges and Spacey combined. Add all of those to the number of conspiracy theorists, people who read the book, fans of the Coen brothers' films and people who just love a decent comedy, and the only way you lose is if you miss seeing it, but don't let that happen and watch Men Who Stare at Goats.
